In this day and age, we pile on the tasks, we think we need to do more to stay ahead of the curve, we say yes to everything asked of us. We then plow through our days full steam ahead, desperate to check as much as possible off our to-do list. At the end of the day we are exhausted and look back on a day where we've cranked through a bunch of nothingness. Does this sound familiar? You had so much to complete that you were never fully aware of what you were doing while you were doing.
Next time you find yourself in this situation, use these tricks to be present to the moment:
Ask yourself why you are completing the task. Think big picture. Is the end product going to help someone? Keep the reason in mind and try to remember it as you complete the task.
Schedule the time to complete the task. Block off the time. Work it into your schedule. Know that you have 45 minutes devoted to that task.
Make the task your focus. There is always going to be "something else" that needs to be done, but in reality there is very little that absolutely needs to be done immediately. Stay with the task. If you need to, disconnect from distractions like phone or email.
Appreciate what you've done when you are finished. Check it off your list. Breathe. Give yourself a pat on the back. Allow yourself to realize what you have accomplished.
The above quote is attributed to American naturalist John Burroughs and can serve as a wonderful daily reminder that success and happiness can be achieved even if you don't know all the details of the "how." If you know in your gut that you want something, be it more money to live the life you've always imagined, time freedom, or just an escape from being chained to a desk, then you already have what it takes to make your dreams a reality.
Many people are unwilling to move forward until they are at a point of absolutely certainty. Guess what - it will never come. There is no way you can be absolutely certain of the outcome of any decision. But your desires will fuel you forward until you make your dream a reality. Resources will show up when you need them. Have a little faith and take the first step forward. Leap and the net will appear.
Your perception is reality. You’re in control of it. If you ever find yourself struggling with negativity or your perception isn’t what you would like it to be, use these tips to change it. Change your perception; change your life….
In network marketing, sales, or any endeavor where we have to somehow get people to say yes, we can get accustomed to hearing people say they’re not interested. So much so that people often don’t know what to do when someone says ‘yes’.
One of the biggest mindset changes and mental exercises you can do is to not only expect a yes, but know exactly what to do when someone says it.
Here are seven traits that people are looking for when it comes to leadership. As you build your network, keep these in mind and work on getting better at them all the time.
A clear and specific vision. People want to know where you’re headed. If you want to be thought of as a leader and a visionary, you have to have a very clear and specific vision.
Decisiveness. No one wants to follow someone who can’t make a decision. People follow strength. Even when you make a mistake, be decisive about it.
Direct communication. People want to know the truth. Great leaders are tough and disciplined. They don’t skirt around the truth or tell people only what they want to hear. Great leaders help people grow by being direct with them.
Humans have evolved a sixth sense. They know when they’re being pitched and they avoid it at all costs. When the feeling arises, it causes people to do all sorts of weird things to get out of the situation.
In network marketing, a predominant style for decades has been attack mode. Highly active and in your face constantly. And while active selling still has a place in direct sales (after all it is sales), introducing a more passive approach will feel better and attract more people to you.
There is so much going on in the world of marketing that people have a hard time focusing. They want to have a connection. When you use passive selling – making selling secondary instead of primary – it becomes fun and people are much more likely to ask you how they can get involved. When they feel acknowledged, valued, and they’ve connected and had fun, buying feels like membership into your exclusive club.
